Bangtan Sonyeodan are known as many different names, most commonly BTS. As well as Bangtan Boys, Bulletproof Boy Scouts and Beyond The Scene (Wikepdia). They are a group of 7 members, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Kim Namjoon, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jeongguk(Wikepdia). They debuted as a group in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment which is also their current company (Wikepdia). Since their debut they have released close to if not more than 100 songs including japanese and english version of already existing songs (Staroutloud.wordpress). There is also 3 members who are rappers and who have released their own mixtapes seperate from the group albums and these total to 28 songs (Genius). BTS have gained a lot of populariiy and success over the course of their careers which has led to them having a combined networth of approximately $45 million USD (Celebs Net Worth). Not only are they wildely popular in South Korea but also in North America. Attending the 2017 BBMAs and winning the award for top social artists getting them renominated in 2018 as well as being asked to perform! (Billboard). They also performed at the 2017 AMAs, on the ellen shown, Jimmy Fallon show and the Dick Clarks NYE event (Billboard)! They are also known for speaking out on social issues unlike many other South Korean idols who are told to shut their mouths and not express personal opinions about anything remotely political or controversial. BTS went against this by speaking out against violence towards teens and children. "They joined forces to sponsor #ENDViolence, a UNICEF campaign based around making the world a safer place so that that children and teenagers will be able to live happy and healthy lives, without living in the fear of violence." (Billboard). They have promised to give 3% of the money made off of the physical Love Yourself album sales as well as 500 million KRW which is approx US $500,000 (Billboard). BTS are young, successful and innovative in terms of pushing the South Korean society's boundaries. They deserve nothing but love and admiration! BTS FIGHTING!
